Company
The company built to make cold optional.
Still Velocity is a protein design company. We engineer synthetic proteins that dry into a stable glass around a biologic, so the medicine survives at room temperature instead of on ice. We do not make the drug. We make the matrix the drug travels in.
01 - The Mission
On a mission to eliminate the cold chain for biologics.
Not to improve it. Not to monitor it better. To make it unnecessary.
We do not fix the cold chain. We make it irrelevant.
The truck still bakes. The ice pack still freezes. The power still cuts. The dose stays in range through all of it.
Co-formulated with the drug. No change to the molecule, and no change to the manufacturing line it already runs on.
One mechanism across monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA-LNP, and cell and gene therapy. The protection is a property of the glass, not of the payload.
The cargo is held still inside a solid matrix. Nothing is bonded to it and nothing is altered. Add water and it comes back unchanged.
Still Velocity designs a protein excipient intended to make these products stable at ambient temperature. Target modalities reflect where the approach is designed to apply. Performance is under validation.
02 - The Path
Ambient by default.
The end state is simple to describe and hard to reach. Medicine that does not need the grid. A vial that survives the journey on its own, so the last mile stops being the hardest one.
We are not there. Here is the honest path between here and there.
Prove it, or disprove it.
Move the designed proteins out of simulation and into a wet lab, and get a real answer on whether the physics holds in our own sequences. A staged, low-cost experiment designed to give a clean yes or no rather than a hopeful maybe.
A new excipient class, licensed.
If the physics holds, the output is a library of composition-of-matter sequences that pharma partners co-formulate into their own products. They run the qualification through their own filings. We stay asset-light and license the IP.
Cold storage becomes a choice, not a requirement.
A biologic that ships like a small molecule. Fewer excursions, less waste, and a shorter distance between where a medicine is made and everywhere it needs to reach.
The result we are working toward is a clear answer, not a comfortable one.
03 - How We Work
Four things we hold to.
Early-stage science is mostly a discipline of not fooling yourself. These are the rules we run on.
We try to break our own results first.
Every internal signal gets tested against data that could kill it, before it ever informs a decision. Some have not survived that test, which is the point. We would rather find the flaw ourselves, early and cheaply, than defend a claim we cannot support.
We say what is demonstrated and what is not.
There is a real difference between a hypothesis, a simulation, and a measurement, and we label which one we are standing on. Nothing on this site is stated as proven unless it has been measured.
We stay asset-light on purpose.
No wet lab of our own, no manufacturing, no headcount ahead of evidence. Computation and IP in-house. Physical validation with the specialists who already do it best. Capital goes into answers, not overhead.
We design the smallest experiment that settles it.
The right next experiment is the cheapest one that can still change our mind. Staged, sequenced, and specified in advance, so the result means something whichever way it lands.
